Comfort, Connection, Compassion, Clarity
Tama Hill-Murrian - MBACP, Dip.Couns. & Founder of Aravah Therapy Service
So what's different about me? Well...I am! I believe in connecting with purpose, creative expression and empowering others to be themselves. Aravah Therapy Service is a reflection of me; unique, different and intentional.
Why Aravah? Aravah means willow. The Willow tree has deep roots, is strong and resilient. Broken branches can form new roots, grow naturally but flourish when nurtured. This represents being human to me and our ability to fall, rise, grow and thrive even in the worst circumstances. I am a Willow!
Explore the past, live in the present, hope for the future.
What's counselling like? Counselling is talking therapy that can help you deal with the challenges of your emotional wellbeing and managing your mental health. It facilitates understanding your thoughts, feelings and actions, discovering your true self, making better choices and taking control of your life. It offers the freedom to question your beliefs and perceptions, think about other possibilities, let go of the past, build resilience and start realising your potential.
Sessions with me are initialised and continued with a therapeutic relationship to help you feel immediately at ease, unhindered, free and secure with respect, dignity, empathy, congruence and non-judgemental acceptance. I consider connecting with others one of my superpowers and hope I'm connecting with you.
What can you expect? An honest, trusting, individually tailored relationship, with sensitively and ethically managed boundaries. You are the expert on yourself so the more you bring to the counselling space, the more you'll discover. Your therapeutic change may take a little or a long time but I will support you at a pace that feels right for you. Where you allow yourself to go, I will follow and hold you as long as you permit it. As I said before, no pressure, just process!
